Who: Ally Davidson
How she won: Trailing on points into the very last round — the dreaded Eliminator obstacle course, where Davidson had to start five seconds behind her opponent, Tiffaney Florentine — the gritty Davidson outswam, outclimbed, and out zip-lined Florentine to take the title.
Backstory: From Dallas, the 24-year old Davidson chose her wedding day to audition for, and gain a spot on, this most recent Gladiatorial contest. Her husband, Jeff, also competed, but he didn’t fare as well as his bride. Ally Davidson never let the memory of a near-fatal skiing accident stand in the way of her finishing first.
Memorable moment: No sooner did the ever-whoopin’ and hollerin’ Davidson win than she was joined in the celebratory swimming pool by her ecstatic husband. Ally Davidson was last heard screaming: "This is the best honeymoon ever!" |
